Do you get half way through a project and have to start again because you don’t know where people are up to?

Maybe you can’t keep up with the management requirements for reporting on what you are doing?

You know what you need to do, but you just forgot to order that one long-lead-time part?

Technorama has the perfect answer.   On Friday 3 May 2019, be part of

PROJECT MANAGEMENT training for technologists

helping you prepare, present, track and report on your next project.

What you need to know

This beginners-level course is open to technologists and managers who want to do a better job managing technology projects.   The class is tailored towards the situations faced in community broadcasting, but the skills you learn are universal and will help you at work and at home too.

We will go through preparing a project plan step by step (and apply it to your project!).

You will learn to put all your thoughts in order so you can more easily:

  • Prepare a budget
  • Know how long the project will take (and explore different ways of sharing this with management)
  • Put your tasks in order so you get them all done on time
  • Spit tasks up between different people
  • Track and report on your project

You will walk away with templates that you can use for the future, course notes, as well as your next project fully planned and laid out! Specifically designed to support community broadcasting technology projects.

What does it cost?

If you look for project management courses on the web, you might expect to pay $800-1000 for a one day class.   The class we’re offering is every bit as good, but for Technorama members will cost only $45.   How can we do it?  Because we’re volunteers like you, and our trainer is totally committed to education.

When and where?

The Technorama 2019 Education day runs on 3 May at the Campbelltown RSL, Carberry Lane, Campbelltown NSW 2560 from 0930.  Class will finish in time to let you freshen up before TR19 kicks off.   All materials will be provided, and there are no prerequisites for the class.   However if you have a project under way, or you are about to embark on a project at your station, have some detail at hand.  You might be able to use it as a case study.

How do I sign up?

You will need to register here.   There are only 15 places on the class, and we think it’s worth getting in early.   You’ll get the best value from the experience if you also attend TR19, but note that the two events are completely separate – your TR19 registration does not include the project management class.   So don’t wait.
